Meet the Skin and Laser Team

The Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital is led by four consultants working inside a tertiary general hospital. Ke He, MD, is responsible for the medical review of this site and performs the treatments it compares. Both sides of the decision are represented on the team: Dr. Yongbo Jia holds the dermatological assessment and the medical conditions that need settling first, Dr. Shaoliang Wang the face that a device cannot change, and Dr. Tongchun Mao the surgical alternative when laxity is the real finding.

Skin & laser aesthetics · needle and energy-based resurfacing · the texture-or-laxity assessment

Dr. Ke He is Deputy Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital and head of its skin and laser aesthetic service — and she is the lead physician of this site. A core specialist formerly at the Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Department of Xinqiao Hospital, affiliated with Army Medical University, she has worked on the clinical front line in skin laser and injectable aesthetics for more than 20 years, serving over ten thousand patients.

Both techniques compared on this site are performed in Dr. He's service, and the judgement she applies to them is the same one she applies to every device-based plan: whether the change the patient is describing is one that controlled injury can reach. Her position is that the target is decided by examination rather than by preference, that the simpler technique is the right answer for texture in firm skin, and that heat at depth is reserved for people who need what it reaches rather than offered as the newer option. She declines both in active acne, in an active infection, and in skin loose enough that neither technique will change what the patient actually sees.

Clinical focus

  • Assessment that separates surface texture from laxity before a technique is chosen
  • Needle-based and energy-based treatment of texture, scarring and pores
  • Honest limits of non-surgical firming, and referral to surgery when it is the answer
  • Pigment risk in darker skin, and the test area before a full treatment
  • Recognition and management of pigment change and thermal injury after treatment

Academic roles & achievements

A needle is not a lift

Both techniques on this site change the skin. Neither repositions tissue that has descended, and the firming that heat may add is not a lift. When the change a patient is describing is position rather than surface, the honest answer is an assessment for the operation that addresses it — not a longer course of needling.
